EAST WINDSOR Mel SilVerman, 66, died Sept. 17 while on vacation in Costa Rica.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., he was a 34-year resident of the township and was a member and officer of East Windsor Rescue Squad District II for many years. He completed a tour of duty in the Naval Reserves in the 1960s.
Predeceased by parents Shirley Schwartz and William Silverman and son Stephen, he is survived by wife Maria Silverman; stepchildren Erick Arias and Carlos Paez; and brother Allen.
Interment was held at King Solomon Memorial Park in Clifton.
