EAST WINDSOR — Two people sustained minor injuries in a three-car accident at Routes 133 and 33 this week, which resulted in one man needing to be removed from his vehicle by emergency services personnel.
Police said they responded at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a three-car crash and found that Richard Lyden, 48, of Lawrenceville, had apparently failed to stop at a red light while driving his pickup truck east on Route 133.
Mr. Lyden’s truck and a car driven by Nannetta J. Malone, 46, of Millstone, collided as she drove west on Route 33, police said. Mr. Lyden’s truck proceeded across the intersection, where it collided with a car driven by Frank Ferlise, 53, of Hamilton, as he traveled east on Route 33, according to police.
Mr. Ferlise had to be removed from his car by members of East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #2 and the Hightstown fire department. He was taken to Robert Johnson Hospital at Hamilton, where a representative said he was treated and released.
Ms. Malone was treated and released from CentraState Medical Center.
MONOC provided transportation to both hospitals.
Mr. Lyden did not report any injuries.
The East Windsor Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit was continuing to investigate Thursday.
