Lambertville
An investigation into who supplied alcohol to an 18-year-old driver before he was involved in a serious motor vehicle crash Sept. 1 recently was concluded by police.
Police charged Kenny Collazo, 25, of Nescopack, Pa., and James Herron, 25, of Lambertville with three counts of providing alcohol to persons underage.
Police said Thomas Cooper III, 18, of Milford left a party in Lambertville after one of the underage guests became out of control after drinking heavily.
Mr. Cooper crashed his car into a tree on Mt. Airy Village Road in West Amwell, police said, and was taken by helicopter to a hospital for treatment.
Mr. Cooper is facing charges of drunken driving, police said.
Cherish Brown, 19, of Ringoes, allegedly became out of control while attending the party on Hancock Street, police said. Police were called to the party when Ms. Brown allegedly began assaulted other guests, including Mr. Cooper, who left, apparently to get away from her, police said.
Ms. Brown, who ran from police, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and three counts of simple assault.
Mr. Herron also was charged with false imprisonment as he tried to restrain Ms. Brown with handcuffs, police said.
All three were released without bail.
Someone vandalized a vehicle Monday, Sept. 22, while it was parked at the Body Tech gym on Lambert Lane, police said.
The victim reported a large, deep scratch on the car’s fender when coming back to the car at about 11:40 a.m., police said.
A chair in the shape of a hand was stolen from the backyard of a Quarry Street resident sometime between Friday and Saturday.
Police said an unknown man, accompanied by a female child, approached the victim Friday about buying the chair, police said. The victim told him it was not for sale, and the man left, police said.
The next morning, the chair was gone, police said.
The chair is crafted from wood and painted white, police said.
The man is described as while, mid- to late 40s, tall and bald, police said.
West Amwell
Friday at 5:58 p.m., there was an accident on Route 579 near the Quick Chek store.
Suzanne Barclay, 48, of Titusville was going south on Route 579, made a left to pull into the driveway of the store in front of a vehicle driven by Todd Kleinman, 45, of Flemington, police said.
Ms. Barclay struck the rear of Mr. Kleinman’s vehicle, police said. The wet road also was a factor, police said.
No tickets were issued.
Sunday at 7:55 a.m., there was an accident on Route 29, about a mile north of Old River Road.
Police said Sun Yim, 50, of Maple Shade, N.J., was going north on Route 29 when a tree limb fell, damaging her windshield and door mirrors, police said.
She was not injured.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation removed the debris from the road.
Police are reminding drivers that, for the next several months, deer will be more active along the road.
Motorists should adhere to all speed limits to reduce the number of crashes and risk of serious injury.
