Drivers needed for Meals on Wheels

Jewish Family and Vocational Services (JFVS) of Middlesex County urgently needs caring volunteers to deliver meals to homebound clients. There is an immediate Monday opening on the Woodbridge/Perth Amboy delivery route.

The Kosher Meals on Wheels program is a five-day-a-week service that provides two daily meals to seniors and disabled individualswho are temporarily or permanently unable to shop or cook for themselves.

Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of two delivery dates per month, with each route running approximately 90 minutes. Meals are distributed weekdays at 10 a.m. at The Orchid, Metuchen. An individual who is unable to drive may still make a meaningful contribution as a “jumper” — a navigator who works alongside the driver to deliver the meals.
