Man faces charges

BRICK TOWNSHIP — A Lacey Township man was arrested at Kohl’s Plaza the day after he allegedly pointed a pellet gun at his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend and threatened to kill him, according to police.

Ryan Dautorio, 18, was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and terroristic threats, Capt. John E. Rein Jr. said.

His total bail was set at $103,000. Dautorio was transported to the Ocean County jail in Toms River, police said.

The incident occurred at roughly 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Best Buy store on Sept. 25. Dautorio and the woman’s current boyfriend had had “some words” the day before and agreed to meet in the parking lot the next night, Rein said.

The ex-boyfriend arrived around 9 p.m. Shortly after, a car driven by Dautorio pulled up. Dautorio pulled out a “realistic-looking handgun,” pointed it at the other man and told him he was going to shoot and kill him, Rein said.

The other man fled and Dautorio drove off. A warrant was issued for him. Dautorio was spotted the following day at 2:05 p.m. by Detective Dan Waleski. He was arrested in Kohl’s Plaza on Route 70 and Chambers Bridge Road by Patrolman Louis Valanzola, Rein said.
