Republicans’ service earns voter’s support

Peter Cipparulo, Hillsborough
I am writing this letter on behalf of Mayor Anthony Ferrera and Gloria McCauley. Anthony and Gloria are running for township committee. I have had the opportunity to get to know Anthony as both our daughters were in elementary school together.
Both Mr. Ferrera and Ms. McCauley have greatly impressed me with their public service outside the usual politics.
Mr. Ferrera is on the board of directors for the Organization for Autism Research (“OAR”) and is fundraising chairman for OAR. He was significantly involved with Somerset Special Olympics and even coaches girls softball for the town recreation league and Mary Mother of God CYO basketball.
Ms. McCauley was named Somerset County Outstanding Woman of the Year for Public Service in March because of her civic service. What particularly impresses me is that both Mr. Ferrera and Ms. McCauley hold fulltime jobs, are active politically in Hillsborough, and yet still find time to volunteer their services for philanthropic causes.
As a Hillsborough resident, I have been very pleased that under Mr. Ferrera’s leadership town debt was reduced by $1.8 million. I know that Ms. McCauley shares Mr. Ferrera’s vision on keeping Hillsborough affordable for its families as she serves on the Economic and Business Development Commission for Hillsborough.
I am also pleased that under Mr. Ferrera’s leadership the GSA depot will eventually be converted to additional parkland for our children. Ms. McCauley supports this mission as well.
I would ask that Hillsborough residents reelect Mr. Ferrera and elect Ms. McCauley to the Township Committee.
