Young, Rumer advance in Princeton’s Greatest contest

Versatile athletes face off in next matchups

   Former basketball and football star Darius Youngy and former three-sport star Tim Rumer have advanced through the first round of the Princeton High’s All-Time Greatest Athlete contest.
   Young, who was known for his versatility while at PHS, garnered 82 percent of the vote to defeat former basketball star Rodney Derry in a first-round matchup. Rumer secured 76 percent of the vote for a victory over former ice hockey star John Ryan.
   Two new head-to-head matchups are now underway, as former three-sport star Missy McCloskey (Bruvik) takes on former field hockey and lacrosse star Heidi Faith in one matchup. The other will pit former three-sport star Buster Thomas against former basketball and football star Kirk Webber.
