Nate Waldron of Lambertville
The members of the Union and Fleetwing fire companies have decided to postpone the Oct. 12 supper and silent auction.
We are all feeling the pinch of the economic times we are currently in.
As such, we feel it would be in poor judgment to go through with the event since the burden of the financial weight would fall on the restaurants who would be graciously donating their time, staff and the food for their menus.
We will reschedule this fundraising event for the spring, and we invite #9 at Kline’s Court, Anton’s at the Swan, Elite Linens, Jim Hamilton and Hamilton’s Grill Room, Homestead Farm, Lambertville Station, Lilly’s on the Canal and Pineville Tavern to help the members of the Union and Fleetwing fire companies expand our firehouse.
As we have said before, we live in a wonderful part of the world and have an extraordinary community and with that comes the responsibility of doing the right thing — taking care of the people and businesses that take care of us.
We thank everyone for their continued support.
