Manville High School Class of 1998 will celebrate its 10-year reunion from 7 to 11 p.m. Nov. 29 at Mia Sorella Restaurant on Main Street in Manville. Anyone who wishes to obtain information can do so by sending a request to [email protected]. If you know of a class member who has not been contacted, e-mail the address above.
A grandparents’ support group is now forming for any interested grandparent. It will encompass areas such as lack of contact, estrangement, general grand parenting issues and other topics of interest to the group. If you are a grandparent and are interested in sharing concerns with others, call Counseling and Therapy Services weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 218-9062.

The Manville Boy and Scouts Troop 193 presents NWS All-Star Pro Wrestling to be held at the Manville VFW Hall, 600 Washington Ave., Manville, featuring top TV superstars. Pedals for Progress (www.p4p.org), a NJ-based organization, will ship the bikes to third-world countries. The Manville Democratic Club will hold a cocktail reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mia Sorella, 337 N. Main St., for Manville Democratic Borough Council candidates Ron Skirkanish and Lou Fischer. Manville Board of Education will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the ABIS Media Center.
Manville Recreation Commission sponsors Walking Program for Adults from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, through April 9 in the high school. The cost is $10 per person to walk twice a week. Records will be kept of miles walked and a certificate of achievement will be issued at the end of this program. Registration from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Recreation Trailer, next to Fire House 3, North 8th Avenue, and at the high school during the program. For questions, call 722-2656.

Somerville-Raritan-Manville Health Department flu clinics for all adults ages 18 and older. The flu shots are free for older adults with traditional Medicare Part B (bring your Medicare card), not HMO/Managed Care Medicare. For all other adults, a flu shot is $25. Flu clinics will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Manville VFW Hall (600 Washington Ave.); Oct. 22 at the Somerville Senior Citizen Building (1 Mountain Ave.); Oct. 30 at Raritan Borough Hall (22 First St.). Looking ahead
A “Scare Raising Spooktacular” sponsored by the Manville/Hillsborough Elks Lodge 2119 located on Brooks Blvd. in Hillsborough. The event will be from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 18. Tickets are priced at $25 in advance and will be $35 at the door. The party will feature music by the “Hit N’ Run Band” costume contest and door prizes. You must be 21 or older to attend. All proceeds from the party will benefit the Manville/Hillsborough Elks Lodge 2119. For tickets and information, call 370-3941.
A Tricky Tray will be held at the Manville VFW on Oct 25 at 6:30 p.m. The VFW is located at 600 Washington Ave. in Manville, right off Main Street. This fundraiser has limited seating. Reach for the Stars Basket Auction, sponsored by the Manville Education Foundation, will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at the VFW post, 2290 Washington Ave. Refreshments and door prizes will be offered must be 18.
