Edgar J. Denlinger

   WEST WINDSOR — Edgar Jacob Denlinger, 69, died Saturday at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.
   Born in Lancaster, Pa., Dr. Denlinger was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and went on to earn his master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
   He enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, and the company of close family and friends.
   He had a distinguished career in microwave engineering, with more than 50 technical publications and six patents. He retired in 2003 from Sarnoff Corp. in Princeton, where he received three Sarnoff Technical Achievement awards during his 30 years of employment. He also had served as a research engineer at RCA Applied Research Division in Camden, a research faculty member at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, Mass., an adjunct professor of electrical engineering at Drexel University and a visiting professor at Harvard University.
   He was a member of the International Standards committee, the Electromagnetic Academy, and the honor societies of Sigma Chi, Sigma Tau, Phi Kappa Phi, and Tau Beta Pi. He also served as a member of Gothic-Fraternal Masonic Lodge 270 and William Parkman Fraternal Masonic Lodge F.&A.M., Crescent Temple Shriners AAONMS, Scottish Rite Valley of Central Jersey, Tall Cedars 4, Victory Chapter 96 OES, and the West Windsor Senior Center.
   He was a member and former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown and was active in the Boy Scouts of America.
   Son of the late Victor and Marian Denlinger, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia Wilson Denlinger; his children, Crystal Denlinger of Philadelphia, and Craig Denlinger of Memphis, Tenn.; and several cousins and close friends.
   Funeral service was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Hightstown. Interment followed in Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton. A Masonic service was held at the Peppler Funeral Home.
