Elizabeth Kowalski

   MANVILLE — Elizabeth A. (Bardar) Kowalski died Oct. 5 at the Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was 81.
   Born in Ashley, Pa., she had resided in Somerville before settling in Manville during the 1950s.
   Mrs. Kowalski worked at General Cigar in Ashley, Pa.
   She enjoyed being a homemaker.
   She was instrumental in helping her husband, Thaddeus, with the founding of the Association to Improve Benefits for Disabled Workers of America.
   Her husband, Thaddeus S. “Ted” Kowalski, died in 1999; and siblings Mary Malinchak, John Bardar, Andrew Bardar, Agnes Seiler, Anna Fialkowski, George Bardar, Catherine Kozak and Helen Katra are deceased.
   Surviving are a son, Ted of Manville; two daughters, Donna Kowalski and Doreen Norway of Manville; a sister, Clara Bardar of Wapwallopen, Pa; and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, beginning at 11:20 a.m. from Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a high noon funeral liturgy at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Manville. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
   Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the funeral home today from 11 a.m. until service time.
