Mr. Travis, 85, of Colts Neck, died Oct. 5, 2008, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born in Bronx, N.Y., and resided in Colts Neck for the past 42 years. Mr. Travis was a graduate of Pratt Institute. Prior to his retirement, he was a member of the technical staff at Bell Laboratories in Holmdel for 37 years. He was a jazz musician, playing with various Big Bands over his lifetime, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Hope, and two daughters, Kim Travis-Fasnacht and Amey T. Barnes; and three grandsons. A graveside service was held at Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill, Mass. A memorial service was held at Colts Neck Reformed Church.
