Kathryn Zinsmeister, Princeton

Kathryn Zinsmeister,
Princeton
beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died in her home at Acorn Glen, Princeton, New Jersey on August 27, 2008.
She was born in Philadelphia on October 14, 1919 to Rachael and Robert Smith. She was preceded in death by her father in 1922, her mother in 1971, and by four brothers: Thomas in 1910, Bill in 1929, George in 1968, and Harry in 1971.
She attended Kensington High in Philadelphia and worked for Burks meat packers following her graduation where she met her husband to be, William Zinsmeister. "Hello, Miss Smith," he said. "How did you know my name?" she asked. "I know everything," he stated. They were married June 22, 1940 and recently celebrated their 68th anniversary with family and friends.
She and her husband lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after their marriage, moving to Berlin, New Jersey in approximately 1947 and to Lansdale, Pennsylvania in 1955. They spent 3 years in San Diego, California and then moved to Sun City Center, Florida in 1981 where they resided until February 2008 at which time they moved to Acorn Glen to be close to two of their three children.
Her family was her first love and interest always, but throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, especially to her "home land" of Portugal, golf, reading, knitting and sewing, and the arts. She had an unsurpassed memory for names of songs and artists and for movies and actors. Her sense of humor knew no bounds. People naturally gravitated toward her because of her humor, her interest in them, and her kind heart. Her physical body is gone from us, but the bond which unites our souls can never be severed. She lives within our hearts and we will love her forever.
She is survived by her husband William of Princeton, New Jersey, a daughter Kathryn Nyce of Hopewell, New Jersey, a son William of El Cajon, California, a son Robert of Hatfield, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Contributions to the American Cancer Society in her name would be appreciated. A celebration of her life will be held on October 12, 2008 in Hopewell, New Jersey at the home of her daughter.
