Signs will promote Hopewell Valley Green Market, which will take place at The Pennington School on Oct. 18
A group of motivated high school students organized as the YMCA Teen Leaders Club spent their off Tuesday, Sept. 30, painting signs to help the planet. The signs will be displayed at intersections to promote the upcoming Hopewell Valley Green Market, which will take place at The Pennington School on Oct. 18.
Conceived and built entirely by community volunteers, and entirely paid for by neighborhood merchants, the Green Market will be a festival of earth-friendly products and ideas, showcasing the environmentally responsible practices of Pennington businesses while educating residents in sustainable choices.
In addition to contributing paintings and designing flyers, the YMCA Teen Leaders Club will run one of the many free game booths at the Green Market. As well as winning eco-prizes, festival-goers can have their pictures taken with The Lorax, learn how to make wrapping paper from newspaper, color the illustration on their complementary reusable bag, and test their recycling knowledge.
Bring broken crayons! They will be instantly restored and returned to you at the one-of-a-kind Crayon Repair Shoppe. For more information, see www.hopewellvalleygreenmarket.org.
Teen Club Leaders who had a role in the sign-painting included Mollie and Sophie Heller, Olivia and Christina Ludwig, Jackie Chester, Alex Snyder, Gabriella Immordino, Jenna Levandowski, Alex Crivelli, Kimmie Jacimak, Bendon Roderman and Rachel Schor.
