Tigers fall, 27-24, in Hamilton

Jacob Stein’s 33-yard field goal with 2 seconds left gave Colgate a 27-24 win over Princeton University’s football team on Saturday in Hamilton, N.Y.
The Raiders drove from their own 20 with 1:10 left and reached the Princeton 16 before Stein’s kick helped them improve to 4-2 overall. Princeton dropped to 2-2. The remainder of the Tigers’ games will be against Ivy League opponents. They host Brown next Saturday.
Princeton rallied to tie it, 24-24, on a 2-yard pass from Brian Anderson to tight end Billy Mitchell and a two-point conversion to Will Thanheiser with 9:23 left in the fourth quarter.
Anderson rushed 24 yards for one touchdown and threw for one. Jordan Culbreath rushed for  a career-high 153 yards and one touchdown. His 15-yard run for a touchdown gave Princeton its second lead of the game, 9-7, with 3 seconds left in the first quarter.
Princeton took an early lead on a 40-yard field goal by Connor Louden. Colgate answered when West Windsor-Plainsboro South product Adrien Schriefer caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from Greg Sullivan.
Princeton held the leading NCAA rusher Jordan Scott to 116 yards on the ground, well under his 203.5 average.
