Free speech freedom abused

Dorothy Ames of Lambertville
As I walked down my driveway to pick up my papers early this morning, I was shocked and dismayed to see that someone had torn down my “Obama for President” yard sign for the second time in a matter of weeks.
This time, the sign wasn’t thrown into the woods; it was stolen.
At this time, in this country, it is saddening one of the foremost freedoms we enjoy, free speech, could be so callously abused.
To the person(s) who destroyed my yard sign, I did not place this sign on your property. I did not force you to share my opinion regarding our next president. I simply exercised my right to freedom of speech on my own property; no less.
You on the other hand, trespassed on my property illegally and destroyed my belongings. I am aghast someone so small-minded and with such disrespect for our constitutional freedoms could actually be voting for the next leader of our country.
The right to vote is as much a freedom in this country as that to free speech. Shame on you!
