Over the past few years I’ve gotten to know Don Holland. He is usually found in the front row of Manalapan Township Committee meetings with his wife, Wanda, listening to the important business of our town.
I’ve noticed that of the many residents who speak at meetings, Don is one of the rare breed that only addresses the Township Committee when he has an important issue to address … as opposed to some of those familiar faces that seem to get up week after week to either badger the committee members or make partisan speeches.
I’ve gotten to know Don through side conversations at the meetings. As a former Marine, union worker and farmer, he brings unique work experience with him.
As a member of the Planning Board and the Agricultural Committee, he’s put in the time to gain an understanding of how our local government works. And because he is semi-retired, he has the time to put into the committee to research issues and (continue to) work for the betterment of our fine town.
Service to country, to his family and town … for these reasons and more, I support Donald Holland as Michelle Roth’s running mate for Township Committee. (Michelle’s longtime service and accomplishments to the town speak for themselves, so I’ll keep this letter short!)
