Library trustees thank volunteers for involvement

Allentown Public Library, Board of Trustees
The Allentown Library relies heavily on volunteers to maintain the library building, provide services and raise funding in its support.
Oct. 19-25 is National Friends of the Library Week. The Allentown Library Board of Trustees would like to thank all of our friends and volunteers. While we do not have a formal separate organization of Friends, we have many friends who volunteer their precious time to help raise money and provide support for the Allentown Public Library. Without our friends these events would not have been possible: Ghost Tour, Harvest Festival sales (including books, calendars, 50/50s), used book sales, Flamingo Flocking, children’s programs and more.
Our used book stall is organized and maintained by Barbara Jennings, Ramona Truncer and Rosemary Avar. Each week they spend hours sorting and organizing the thousands of books that are donated for sale. Their work raises nearly $2000 a year for the Library while providing books for our patrons to purchase at a reasonable price.
We offer a special thank you to Joan Ruddiman, Kathy Fidler, Robin Ford, Karen Browne, Debbi McCormick, Pattie Starzynski, Janette Bryden, Lisa Ricciardi, Annmarie Lafata, Nancy Braunworth, Nancy Paulick, Terry Veiga, Beth Glasberg-Katz, Jayne Montecello, Tom Kilgore, Carol Ruthven, Joyce Galanter and Gail Koday. Your gift of time and commitment to the Library leads to the betterment of our community.
The Allentown Public Library is a source of pride for all of Allentown, Upper Freehold and Millstone. Our friends and volunteers are a source of pride as well. If you’d like to be part of this outstanding group and join our volunteers, please call the Library at 609-259-7565.
