ZEPHYR HILLS, Fla. — William Clyde Smith, 87, died Oct. 1 in Dade City under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
He graduated from Greenfield High School in Massachusetts and attended the U.S. Government School at Scotts Air Force Base. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He started his government appointment at the Pentagon, then transferred to McGuire Air Force Base as a production controller with the U.S. Air Force Civil Service. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Trenton, the Order of the Hibernians, and served as treasurer of Secretown, Fla.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane (Graves) Smith; three sons, Terry Smith of Bordentown, Timothy Smith and his wife Jane Suzanne of Burlington, and Thomas Smith of Bordentown; two sisters, Irene Kasper of Texas, and Ruth Grogan of Las Vegas; and two granddaughters, Amanda Smith and Stacey Smith, both of Bordentown.
Interment services will be held in New Jersey at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to Hernando-Pasco Hospice, c/o 37445 Clinton Ave., Dade City, FL 33525.
