Catherine R. "Cappy” Hoch, 78, of Pennington, died in the RWJ University Hospital at Hamilton on Wednesday.
Born in the Hart-Hoch House in Hopewell Township, she was a life long resident of the township.
She attended the Hart’s Corner School and graduated from Hopewell Township Central High School in 1948. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and her MBA from Trenton State College.
She worked in the offices of Chase Aircraft, Rorer Hardware and Cointreau, Ltd., and was employed by Hopewell Township, she retired in 1995 after almost 20 years. She served as secretary to the Planning Board and the Board of Health.
She was a member of the Pennington Kleio Club and former club president. She was a charter member of the Hopewell Valley Historical Society and the Hopewell Township Historic Sites Committee. She was a charter member of Pennington Players. She was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Princeton 50+ Club and the Princeton University Getaway Club.
Daughter of the late Grant and Rose Doyle Hoch, sister of the late Herbert Hoch Jr., she is survived by two brothers, Robert of Titusville and Ronald of Langhorne, Pa.; a nephew, Robert Hoch Jr. of Hopewell Township; a niece, Leslie Ann Cybulski of Maine; and a friend of many years, Betty Davis.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. James Church, followed by burial in Ewing Church Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3-5 p.m., and a brief service will be held at 4 p.m. at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington.
