Somerville-Raritan-Manville Health Department Flu Clinics for all adults ages 18 and older. The flu shots are free for older adults with traditional Medicare Part B (bring your Medicare card), not HMO/Managed Care Medicare. For all other adults, a flu shot is $25. Flu clinics will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2290 (600 Washington Ave.); Oct. 22 at the Somerville Senior Citizen Building (1 Mountain Ave.); Oct. 30 at Raritan Borough Hall (22 First St.). Dance for a Cure will host its third annual Ribbons of Hope fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Bridgewater Marriott. The event includes gift basket raffles, door prizes, a buffet selection, carving station, Viennese dessert table and cash bar for a suggested per-person donation of $55. Funds raised will help Dance for the Cure continue their efforts in lending support to families impacted by cancer. The annual fall Rummage Sale by the United Methodist Women of the Bound Brook United Methodist Church, 150 W. Union Ave., Bound Brook, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today; and from 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow, Oct. 18. A “Scare Raising Spooktacular” sponsored by The Manville/Hillsborough Elks Lodge 2119 located on Brooks Boulevard. The event will be from 7 p.m. to midnight. Tickets $25 in advance and $35 at the door. The party features music by the “Hit N’ Run Band” costume contest and door prizes. You must be 21 or older to attend. A giant community rummage sale will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Congregation Kehilat Shalom, 253 Belle Mead-Griggstown Road, Belle Mead. The congegation will also hold a Bicycle Collection, “Pedals for Progress,” from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. donated bikes will be shipped to developing countries who have no other means of transportation. Bicycles may be in some disrepair, but no rust please. A cash donation of $10 is needed to ship and maintain each bike. IRS approved cash donation slips will be given. Somerville Knight’s of Columbus 37th annual Charity Dinner will be held Oct. 24 at St. Mary’s Byzantine Church, Brooks Boulevard, Hillsborough with the proceeds benefiting the Leukemia Foundation of Northern/Central New Jersey. Dinner tickets are $50 each (or $45 per person for a reserved table of 8-10) and will include beef, chicken, pasta, fish dinners, salads and dessert, coffee and tea. A Polish dinner sponsored by the Manville Exempt Fireman’s Association to be held from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Manville Firehouse no. 1 on South Third Avenue.
