Paul P. Frank Lubertazzi, 73, died Saturday, Oct. 11, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Mr. Lubertazzi was born in Passaic, raised in Nutley, and lived in Montville for 35 years before moving to Greenbriar at Whittingham in 1998. He spent his entire career in the banking industry and worked for several banks, starting at the rank of teller and ultimately becoming chairman of the board, CEO and president of Metropolitan State Bank in Montville, of which he was an original organizer. Following the acquisition of Metropolitan State Bank by Lakeland Bank Corp., he continued his involvement in the banking industry as a board Member until his retirement in 2007. He was past president and current vice president of the Whittingham Homeowners Association and a former member of the Montville UNICO, Rotary Club, Little League and Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Boonton Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara G. (Lombardo) Lubertazzi, of Monroe; two sons, Glen P. and his wife, Katherine E, of Morris County, and Matthew T. and his wife, Colleen J., of Sussex County; two daughters, Leslie A. Guttridge and her husband, G. DeWitt, and Sandra G. Krauland and her husband, Douglas J., both of Morris County; two brothers, Salvatore Lubertazzi and his wife, Phyllis, of Nutley, and Joseph Lubertazzi and his wife, Tracy, of Montana; seven grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Daniel, Jack, Gavin, Kacie and Jesse; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 15, from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe. A funeral liturgy was held at Nativity of Our Lord R.C. Church, Monroe, followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
