MANVILLE — Eduardo Garcia, 18, and Alfredo Garcia, 19, no addresses given, were charged with simple assault at 3:02 a.m. Oct. 5 on South Main Street.
Police received a call about an assault on South Main Street, and reported finding the victim, a 23-year-old male, near the scene. The victim said he’d been punched and hit with a beer bottle, and kicked, according to police.
The two men were taken into custody after a witness corroborated the story, police said.
Both were issued summonses and released.
Mika Wilson, 23, of Rahway, was charged with driving while suspended and having an outstanding warrant out of Linden, in the amount of $155, at 10:44 p.m. Oct. 7 on Finderne Avenue, police said.
Mr. Wilson was released after posting bail.
At 4:25 p.m. Oct. 8, a Cooper Street resident reported $500 worth of electronics and other items had been taken from his residence.
The resident reported an iPod, a wristwatch and a bottle of Aderol, used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, were taken from the residence between 1 and 3 p.m. Oct. 8.
A South Fifth Avenue resident reported that $8,770 worth of jewelry had been taken from her residence sometime during the past two weeks.
The theft was reported at 5:07 p.m. Oct. 8.
A Sieberg’s Used Appliances employee reported two air conditioning units were stolen from a storage shed on the property during the night of Oct. 9.
The theft was reported at 9:24 a.m. Oct. 10. The air conditioners are valued at $300.
Frank Janvari, 38, of Washington Avenue, was charged with trespassing in the CSX rail yard near Louise Drive at 7:31 p.m. Oct. 10, after police received a call about someone near the tracks.
Mr. Janvari was released after processing.
At 10:34 p.m. Oct. 10, a Czaplicki Street resident reported that three tires on his son’s car had been slashed.
Patrols confirmed that the tires were damaged, with the total cost estimated at $711.
Jacob Forktus, 19, of Raritan, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana on Saturday night in Dukes Park.
Police reported approaching Mr. Forktus around 10 p.m. for being in the park after dark, and said that Mr. Forktus admitted having a small amount of marijuana on him.
Mr. Forktus was processed and released.
Clark Moyer Jr., 25, no address given, was charged with disorderly conduct following an incident early Sunday morning.
Police received a call at 3:20 a.m. reporting Mr. Moyer would not leave the residence of a relative on Dukes Parkway. Police reported that Mr. Moyer was yelling and screaming at the resident, refused to leave the house, and was taken into custody.
Mr. Moyer was transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $1,000 bail.
At 5:59 a.m. Sunday, a Manville Avenue caller reported that an orange and white chainsaw, prescription drugs and loose change had been taken from his vehicle while it was parked on the street overnight.
The total value of the stolen property is $996.
