MONROE — An engaged couple was arrested Wednesday for allegedly burglarizing three homes in Monroe.
Jeffrey Ankosko, 21, of East Brunswick, and Nicole Cecora, 20, of Manalapan, were charged with three counts of burglary and theft, police said. Ms. Cecora also has been charged with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance after police allegedly found her to be in possession of 56 decks of heroin.
According to police, Mr. Ankosko and Ms. Cecora entered two Federal Road homes during the afternoons of Oct. 3 and Oct. 7, and a home in the Heritage Chase development Tuesday afternoon.
During the Oct. 3 incident, police said, the victims returned to their home to find Mr. Ankosko and Ms. Cecora inside. The two jumped into Ms. Cecora’s car, rammed the victims’ truck and then escaped by driving across the lawn, according to a Police Department press release.
Police say that in the Oct. 7 incident, the duo was able to make off with two flat screen TVs, several computers, Ipods and jewelry, items they had in their possession at the time of their arrest.
The break in the case came on Tuesday when Ms. Cecora allegedly drove her 2002 gray Pontiac Grand Am into the Heritage Chase development and broke into a home, making off with electronics and jewelry. Police were able to get Ms. Cecora’s license plate number on a tip from a resident. She was pulled over while driving her vehicle in town and arrested, according to Monroe Police Detective Bob Bennett. After a search of the vehicle, police found 56 decks of heroine.
Police in East Brunswick arrested Mr. Ankosko at his home in East Brunswick, where they found most of the stolen items, according to a release.
Mr. Ankosko is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center on $50,000 bail. Ms. Cecora is being held at MCACC on $125,000 bail.
