Virginia E. “Ginger” (Jones) Martoken, 61, died Sunday, Oct. 12, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with her family and friends by her side.
Ms. Martoken was born in Perth Amboy, raised in Fords, and lived in Edison for 34 years before moving to Monroe in 2006. She was currently working as an office manager for Jozsef Duhl in Avenel for the past 18 years and was a past president of the St. Paul’s School PTA in Highland Park. Above everything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her parents, Irwin Jones and Elizabeth (Hansen) Jones, and her sister, Patricia Superior, are deceased. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Martin Martoken, of Monroe; three daughters, Michelle A. Hall and her husband, William H. Jr., of Toms River, Patricia D. Pomponio and her husband, Gary A., of Scotch Plains, and Joy L. Martoken of Monroe; her son, Martin Paul Martoken of Old Bridge; her sister, Barbara Hach of Edison; her brother-in-law, Andrew Superior of California, Md.; five grandchildren, Cassandra M., Carter A., Morgan E., Dylan J., and Cooper J.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct. 16, from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Monroe. A funeral liturgy was held at St. James R.C. Church, Jamesburg, followed by interment in Holy Cross Burial park, South Brunswick.
