Fight in township results in stabbing

Staff report
EAST WINDSOR — An argument between two Hightstown men resulted in one being stabbed in the hand, and the other landing in jail, according to police.
Carlos Quezada, 45, of Hightstown, was charged Tuesday with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and terroristic threats.
Police said they responded to a report of an assault with a knife on the 600 bock of Mercer Street at 5:25 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found the stabbing victim with a puncture wound and laceration to his left hand. The officers determined that Mr. Quezada and the victim were acquaintances and that Mr. Quezada stabbed the victim in the hand with a folding pocketknife a short time earlier, according to police.
   The victim refused medical attention.
Officers found Mr. Quezada hiding in the woods along Westfield Road a few minutes later and arrested him, police said.
He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center in Hopewell in lieu of 10 percent of his $100,000 bail and remained there Thursday.
