Round 2 of Princeton’s Greatest now underway
Former distance runner Karen Swartz as well as football and track star Paul Miles have advanced to the second round of the Princeton High’s Greatest Athlete contest. The two wins close out the 16 opening round matchups.
Swartz finished with 58 percent of the vote to top champion sprinter Sikira Backus, while Miles finished with 86 percent of the vote to defeat former multi-sport star Al Terry.
The field of 32 has now been cut in half, with 16 athetes still in the running for the championship. In the first matchups of the second, round former soccer star Ron Celestin will take on track and field champion Wagner Marsielle, while former basketball star Marv Trotman Sr. will take on former soccer star Saskia Webber.
