Mallet and Mason will do the job as Monmouth County freeholders

All politics is local, and that is why it is important to focus on the freeholder election on Nov. 4. For well over a decade the Republicans have controlled the Monmouth County Board of Freeholders, until recently all five seats.

The Republican dominance stifled democracy and transparency. Recently Barbara McMorrow and John D’Amico have won seats on the board and have helped open up the proceedings, but they are still in the minority.

On Nov. 4 we have the opportunity to end Republican dominance with the election of Amy Mallet and Glenn Mason.

Ms. Mallet is one of the most prominent business leaders in New Jersey, and Mr. Mason had an outstanding career in law enforcement and is now president of the Hazlet Board of Education.
