Bordentown City
Jamie Ganges, 38, of Bordentown City, was charged Oct. 16 with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violating a city ordinance against drinking in public. Police said they responded to a report of suspicious activity at the corner of East Burlington and Carpenter streets at 11:15 p.m. and found two men walking, one of them drinking an alcoholic beverage.
Once stopped, police said the man with the drink, Mr. Ganges, ran onto a porch but was stopped by police and dropped a small, burnt, hand-rolled cigarette containing marijuana. A court appearance is scheduled for later this month.
Scott Vorwerk, 24, of Allentown, was charged Oct. 8 with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and obstructing passage. Police said they saw Mr. Vorwerk’s vehicle travel across Route 130/206, turn onto Thorntown Lane and come to a stop in the roadway at 1:37 a.m.
Police said they approached the car because it was not moving, but when they got ready to check on Mr. Vorwerk, he accelerated rapidly to Thorntown Lane and Ward Avenue, where he again sat without moving and no traffic nearby. He was given a court date for later this month. Florence
Robert Houck III, 24, of Levittown, was charged Friday with unlawful possession of a weapon, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and speeding.
Police said they stopped Mr. Houck for speeding at 2:58 a.m. at Burlington-Columbus and Old York roads, and detected the odor of alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, police reported, and a search of the vehicle revealed a half-full can of beer and a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic weapon and a loaded magazine. He was released upon posting $2,500 bail.
Police said a pedestrian was taken to a hospital after falling from a tractor in the ReadyPac Inc. parking lot on Railroad Avenue at 10:35 a.m. Oct. 16. Police said Sandeep Tejpal, of Burlington, was taken to Helene Fuld Trauma Center in Trenton by helicopter. His condition was not available. The driver, Michael Bullet, of Edgewater Park, was not injured. Police said an investigation is continuing but no charges had been filed as of Tuesday.
Mansfield
Tara K. Williams, 33, of Trenton, was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated, speeding, driving without a license, contempt of court, and failure to wear a seat belt.
Police said they stopped Ms. Williams for speeding at 2:24 a.m. on Route 130 and smelled alcohol. Ms. Williams failed field sobriety tests, according to a police report, and posted bail for an outstanding Trenton traffic warrant before being released to a friend.
Amy D. Denato, 37, of Delran, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, speeding, driving with an expired driver’s license, and failure to wear a seat belt. Police said they stopped Ms. Denato for speeding at 12:30 a.m. on Route 130 and smelled alcohol. Police said she failed field sobriety tests before being released to her sister.
Kurt V. Smith, 49, of Bordentown, was charged Sunday with being a disorderly person. Police said they were rendering assistance on an unrelated call in the parking lot of the Riverfront Motel on Route 130 at 1:10 a.m. when they saw Mr. Smith yelling profanities at someone sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked car in the lot.
According to a police report, Mr. Smith then approached the car and hit its hood with a hammer. The vehicle owner did not pursue charges.
