Resident supports Miller and Lichardi for Freehold council

The Draconian reactionary BOCA code inspection review proposed by the Freehold Borough mayor’s appointee candidate and his three-term incumbent running mate is impossible to pull off. Look at the numbers. They propose to have 1,900 units inspected by three agents, which will require each code enforcement agent to inspect about 630 rental units per year. Is this really possible, or is this another election year undeliverable “just say anything” empty promise?

By adding a variety of specific tools such as rental property lead disclosure, Michael Lichardi and Ted Miller will establish strict, viable code enforcement standards that publicly identify [and] isolate the questionable landlords.

Freehold Borough will finally join the rest of New Jersey, advancing toward the goal of stomping out lead poisoning by 2010. According to the New Jersey Conference of Mayors, this is how Freehold Borough can make a “dramatic” improvement in lowering the rate of childhood lead poisoning.

Lichardi and Miller would maintain a public Web list of every landlord’s “lead disclosure” statement (I believe these are public records). This will identify the good landlords, who maintain their property, from the slumlords. The goal will be to have a 100 percent lead-free rent unit inventory in Freehold Borough.

Now this is real oversight that Freehold Borough can build on a first class quality of life through code enforcement with teeth. These are real solutions that Mayor Mike Wilson and the current Borough Council has totally neglected.

This is an example of how the Lichardi and Miller “difference” will bring effective leadership back to our council.

Regardless of whether you are a renter or a homeowner, Lichardi and Miller are looking out for our children and our entire community’s quality of life. This is why I am endorsing Lichardi and Miller for Borough Council in Freehold Borough.
