JoAnne Speranza of West Amwell
I wish to express my support for Ron Shapella in the upcoming election.
West Amwell has come a long way in the past three years that Ron has been a committee member. There has been much accomplished, and preparation is being made for much still to do.
Ron has taken an active role in the leadership that has contributed to getting the job done in a timely manner.
After satisfying the State of New Jersey by adopting all required ordinances, the sewer service area has been removed from our township map.
We now have a more comprehensive recycling system, which is cost effective and may even bring money back to the township.
Farmland preservation is in full swing.
The troubling potential loss of municipal aid from the State of New Jersey has been alleviated through a hard-fought and hard-pressed campaign by the present Township Committee that united residents and our county and state elected officials to make our voices heard and our voices delivered to Trenton.
In addition, the present committee is already preparing for the possibility of a similar battle for this aid in the upcoming year. While municipal taxes have increased, a well-deserved and needed fire truck was purchased to aid our volunteer fire department in keeping our property and lives safer from catastrophe.
Having attended many meetings since 2003, I see that public meetings are now conducted in a professional manner with all appropriate safeguards for accurate record-keeping. These meetings are user-friendly to the public, and the public opinion is met with respect and consideration.
Ron Shapella has been working effectively to serve and preserve West Amwell Township and its residents.
Re-elect Ron Shapella, the only candidate currently up for re-election.
