Industrial park hosting Saturday craft fair

HILLSBOROUGH — All that was missing was a craft show for buying and browsing, so, instead of waiting for it to happen, Pam Patullo, of Manasquan, created her own.
Ms. Patullo – owner of Creations, a company that makes ladies’ handmade clothing, out of Manasquan – created Harvest Festival 2008, which will be held Saturday at Veterans Industrial Park, on Route 206.
”I had customers asking when I would be in Somerset County,” she said. “But there are no fun crafts shows in the area.”
This event will feature vendors from across the tri-state area, selling woodwork, stained glass, shark tooth jewelry, home décor, photography, ceramics and handmade handbags.
Aside from the vendors, Ms. Patullo said, there will be an inflatable Moon Walk for kids, spin art, sand art and food throughout the day at the free event. She said the Kiddie Academy of Hillsborough, on Stryker Lane, will be making Halloween bags, the Royce Brook Golf Club will be bringing lunch and visitors will be able to pop kettle corn, among other opportunities.
Funds raised from selling booths to the local artists and vendors, Ms. Patullo said, will be donated to the EBDC, who offered to sponsor the event.
According to Ed Barnes, facility manager for the Veterans Industrial Park, they had heard that Ms. Patullo was looking for a place to hold the festival, and decided to offer their services for the event.
”We want to be good to our neighbors,” he said. “At the complex, we are there to assist others.”
Ms. Patullo said the event will held at the grassy park near the entrance to the industrial park off Route 206, close to Docherty Park.
With the event, Ms. Patullo said, she is hoping to attract anybody who wants to spend time looking at a wide variety of crafts.
The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call Ms. Patullo at 732-682-3230.
