Love to get dressed up? Stop by fire company party

MANVILLE — A love of dressing up on Halloween has Manville’s Fire Co. no. 1 hosting its first Halloween Party fundraiser at the firehouse on Oct. 25.
”There are a number of us on the (Ladies’) Auxiliary who love to get dressed up, and we decided to open it to the town, and raise some money,” Christine Pfeiffer, Ladies’ Auxiliary president said.
Manville Fire Company No. 1 will host its first Halloween Party from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, at the fire house on South Third Avenue. The party costs $25 per person or $45 per couple to enter, and is for ages 21 and older.
The Ladies Auxiliary began planning the event in August, and hopes to make it an annual fundraiser. Proceeds from the party will help pay fire company expenses, which includes extra equipment or uniforms the borough budget doesn’t cover, Ms. Pfeiffer said.
In addition to finger foods and drinks, there will be a DJ, contests, a 50/50 drawing, dancing, a trivia game and a costume contest. The costumes aren’t required to enter, Ms. Pfeiffer said.
”You don’t have to dress up, but there will be a costume contest,” Ms. Pfeiffer said.
