Mark Jones has joined Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) as the president of University Medical Center at Princeton (UMCP) and senior vice president of PHCS.
Serving as the senior-most executive of UMCP, Mr. Jones will work with the other members of senior management and the leaders of the medical staff to ensure patient satisfaction, maintain fiscally sound operations, and continue to develop and grow services at the hospital, according a PHCS press release.
He will be responsible for cultivating the necessary partnerships with staff and physicians to facilitate a successful move to the new Plainsboro facility and lead the development of enhanced operating systems to be employed in the replacement hospital, according to PHCS.
His job includes establishing operating targets, benchmarks and deadlines that will advance UMCP’s goal of becoming a Solucient Top 100 hospital, according to PHCS. He will report to PHCS President and CEO Barry Rabner.
Since 1994, Mr. Jones has served in senior leadership roles at Holy Redeemer Health System in Meadowbrook, Pa., outside Philadelphia. For the past nine years, he has been executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Holy Redeemer system.
Prior to joining Holy Redeemer, Mr. Jones was vice president of operations at Greater Baltimore Medical Center from 1989 through 1993. He served as vice president of Presbyterian-University Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from 1984 through 1989.
He earned his first master’s degree at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, where he received a master of science in biology. His second master’s degree is from Columbia University, where he specialized in hospital administration.
