Police blotter

   At 4:26 p.m. Oct. 13, a South Main Street resident reported that a section of exhaust pipe on his 1988 Ford F-150 truck was removed from the vehicle.
   The owner said he believed the pipe was removed while the vehicle was parked on private property sometime in the past three weeks. The pipe is valued at $80.
Francisco Martinez, 49, of California, was charged with failure to turn and careless driving after hitting the railroad underpass while driving a tractor traileron Main Street on Oct. 14.
   Police reported that the incident occurred on the Brooks Boulevard jug handle, around 4:49 p.m.
Bryant J. Williams, 24, of Plainfield, was charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at the Quick Chek on Brooks Boulevard Oct. 16.
   Police received a call from store employees around 2:08 a.m. regarding a customer they described as suspicious. Upon entering the store, police reported that Mr. Williams was yelling and cursing at store patrons and waving his hands in the air.
   Mr. Williams was transported to Somerset County Jail in default of $1,500 bail.
A South Bank Street caller reported at 7:13 a.m. Oct. 17 that the front tires on his 2007 Mazda 6 had been slashed. The resident said the damage occurred overnight, and estimated the cost to replace the tires at $300.
   The vehicle’s right rear was slashed later that day, and reported at 8:31 a.m. Oct. 18. The cost to repair the tire was estimated to be $150.
A Huff Avenue resident reported the theft of four political signs from her front yard on Oct. 17.
   The theft was reported at 12:30 p.m. that day, with the resident saying the theft occurred during the overnight hours.
   The signs were valued at $40 total.
Ediz M. Kargili, 27, of Hillsborough, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana on Oct. 17, after police stopped Mr. Kargili at about 9:50 p.m. for driving on South Main Street with an excessively loud muffler and tinted car windows.
   While speaking with Mr. Kargili, officers said he seemed nervous, and, when asked why, said he handed over a plastic bag containing the marijuana.
   Mr. Kargili was released with a court date.
A Bound Brook resident reported that someone stole a company leaf blower, valued at $500, out of the company vehicle on Oct. 18, while parked on Bleecher Street.
   The incident was reported at 2:04 p.m. that day.
   Jeffrey A. Chapparo, 18, of Bound Brook, was charged with underage drinking, possession of alcoholic beverages, littering, and consuming alcoholic beverages in public on Oct. 18.
   Police were notified by Bridgewater police at 11:44 p.m. of a party in the wooded area near Cooper Street, and found Mr. Chapparo there. Police said several other people fled when police arrived. Mr. Chapparo was released with a summons.
   James E. Jordan, 19, of Flemington, was charged with possession of alcoholic beverages by a minor at 1:06 a.m. Oct. 19, in conjunction with the incident. Mr. Jordan was released with a summons.
A Brooks Boulevard resident reported that her home was shot by three paintballs during the overnight hours Oct. 19, damaging one screen at the residence.
   The incident was reported at 12:58 p.m., and the damage is estimated at $125.
   A Kennedy Boulevard caller reported that his Ford F-150 was scratched while parked overnight on Oct. 19.
   The incident was reported at 1:12 p.m. that day, with police patrols confirming the damage, estimated to cost $200 to repair, to the vehicle’s passenger-side door.
