On Sept. 20, Roosevelt School held its third annual Back to School Carnival. This PTA-sponsored event takes place every year on school grounds and is open to anyone attending school in Manville and their families.
There were games of skill ranging from ring toss to balloon bursting. There was a “Bounce House” and a putting green, and many games to choose from; you couldn’t help but have fun. All this while the DJ played everyone’s favorite songs and awarded prizes for several dance contests.
If these events made anyone hungry, they only had to walk to the food tent where the selection varied from hot dogs and hamburgers to pierogies and kielbasa. If a lighter snack was what you craved, you were in luck. Snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy were also available.
It could have been the gorgeous weather or perhaps the great turnout that made this year’s carnival the most successful yet. This year’s carnival felt more like a community event than a school function.
Thanks to the volunteers who came together to plan and coordinate the day. You made a remarkable difference.
