Anne Elizabeth Burtis

   HAMILTON – Anne Elizabeth Burtis, 94, died Monday.
   Born near Allentown, she spent her youth in the Cream Ridge Red Valley area of Upper Freehold. She lived most of her life in Hamilton.
   She worked in the 1950s as a nurse’s aide at Trenton General Hospital. Her proudest achievement was earning, by waiver, her licensed practical nursing certificate in 1958. She spent more than 25 years in nursing and retired from Hamilton Hospital in the1970s. After her retirement she held several part time jobs. Her favorite was at the Casual Corner Ladies Apparel Store in the Quakerbridge Mall. She loved to dance. In the 40s and 50s it was square dancing but that was ultimately replaced with ballroom dancing which she did for many years first at Hightstown Country Club followed by Nottingham Ballroom in Hamilton Square as well as the Paso Doble Ballroom in Levittown, Pa.
   Daughter of the late Abram B. and Bessie Malsbury Dancer and widow of the late Winfield “Pinky” Burtis, she is survived by sisters and brothers-in- law Bertha and Richard Tarbay of Bethlehem, Pa., and Marilou and Frank Farr; niece Karla Michaud; grandchildren Richard S. Michaud, Sherry Lynn Michaud, Lisa Farr MacIntosh and Matthew Farr; great-grandchildren Tora Vogel, Tyler Tetkowski, Marissa Michaud and Casey Jo Michaud, Cristin and Aidan MacIntosh, and Andrea Caitlyn (Annie) and Allison Christine (Ally) Farr; and great-great-grandson Mason S. Wysienski.
   The viewing will continue today, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Kingston and Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton, with services to follow by Pastor Jay Rambo of the First Baptist Church in Bordentown. Interment will follow at Colonial Memorial Park.
