MONTGOMERY MIDGETS
   The Montgomery Midgets beat a very talented Watchung Hills team, 24-12, on Sunday, improving their overall record to 4-2. Watchung Hills scored first on its opening drive, but Montgomery responded on its third offensive play when Ryan Boyle ripped off a 55-yard touchdown run from scrimmage. Boyle was sprung by a key block from tight end Eric Finley.
   On the next series, Boyle on a halfback option play, threw a 35-yard touchdown strike to a wide open Josh Reinson, who took it in for their second score of the day. Boyle scored again on a 35-yard touchdown run from scrimmage, which was created by the great blocking efforts of Hason Koota and Brian Mayer.
   Montgomery’s defense was strong all day, led by the great play of nose guard Michael Boyer, middle linebacker Jake Colangelo with an interception and the touchdown saving tackling of Nick Dameo.
MONTY JR. MIDGETS
   The Montgomery Wildcats Jr. Midgets were defeated by the Watchung Hills Wolverines, 30-12. The second quarter started with a long run by Wade Baldwin for a first down, as he was supported by the offensive line of Ryan Sohmer, Josh Lipowski, Jared Dellaratta, Angelo Colarusso and Jacob Jakubski. Baldwin followed up with a 20-yard run and another first down. With the ball on the Wildcats’ 19-yard line, Baldwin found C.J. Gatt in the endzone for a touchdown.
   In the second half, Baldwin recovered a fumble and the Wildcats began moving the ball downfield with some strong running plays by Nico Sferra and Lipowski. However, the Wildcats turned the ball over after a fumble. In the last 15 seconds of game, Baldwin connected with Gatt on a short pass for the Wildcats second score of the game.
MONTY PEE WEES
   The Montgomery Wildcat Pee Wees were defeated by the East Orange Jaguars, 32-6. After falling behind, 26-0, at halftime, Monty’s offense got untracked thanks to runs by Devon Meadows, Guy Dipersia, Nico Rembert and Trevor Schmidt. Quaterback Chris Chugunov finally got Monty into the scoring column with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Sean Curry early in the fourth quarter.
   Monty’s defense stiffened in the scond half thanks to a quarterback sack by Vladimir Castillo and a fumble recovery by Schmidt.
MONTY JR. PEE WEES
   The Montgomery Wildcats Junior Pee Wees won a 7-6 decision over the Watchung Hills Wolverines to improve to 5-2 on the season. The game was a tight defensive battle with Wildcat defenders Jake DeMato, Gavin Sudano, Noah Golestani and Christian Rodriguez holding the Wolverines in check for most of the game.
   Montgomery had some early success running behind the blocking of Ryan Murphy, Austin Kelley, Jack Bosken, and Arjun Alwis but was unable to capitalize. The contest remained scoreless late into the second half when Watchung Hills sprung a long run that was stopped by a Dan Mayo tackle at the Wildcat 10-yard line. Watchung Hills punched it in on the next series however to take the lead. What proved to be a game-changing play was made on the ensuing conversion attempt when an Anthony Lopresti hit stopped a Wolverine runner short of the goal line, holding the Watchung Hills lead at 6-0.
   A funny bounce on the following kickoff gave the Wildcats the ball at the Watchung Hills 43-yard line and Montgomery wasted no time in capitalizing on the field position. On first down, Wyatt Colangelo turned a simple inside run into a highlight reel performance by smartly bouncing the play outside and out-racing the Wolverine defense into the end zone. A Matthew Stagnitta conversion run gave Montgomery the 7-6 lead and the decisive margin of victory.
MONTY GREEN FLAG
   The Montgomery Wildcats Green Flag team hosted Watchung Hills on Sunday in a tough battle that featured a high powered running attack from both teams. The Wildcats opened the game with a 35-yard touchdown scamper by Emmanuel Perera. Lucas Kopecky, Ryan Furey, Cole Sudano, Ryan Capuzzi, and Joshua Perera also had big runs for the Wildcats. The offensive line routinely made crushing blocks opening huge holes for the running backs. Jackson Ramirez, Lee Poirier, JJ Miller, Shaan Nerurkar, Jack Holodinski, and Tom Beller paved led the Wildcats O-Line.
   The Wildcats were relentless and physical on the defensive side of the ball. Ramirez and Emmanuel Perera had another big game on defense with four sacks each. Capuzzi, Kopecky, Furey and Timmy Lavake all contributed with several key tackles, including touchdown saving tackles by Sudano and Joshua Perera. The Wildcats made one final goal-line stand to end the game thanks to a shoe-string tackle by rookie free safety Paul Rohmeyer.
MONTY YELLOW FLAG
   The Montgomery Yellow Flag team battled Watchung Hills on Sunday and came away with a hard fought 4-3 win. Watchung Hills started off quickly, scoring on two of the first five plays. But the Wildcats continued to work and scored on a Will Marrapodi 18-yard run near the end of the first half, breaking four tackles on the run.
   In the second half, the Montgomery offense came alive, scoring three touchdowns. First, Danny Boyer scored on a 12-yard run with beautiful blocking from the offensive line led by Patrick Whalen and Nick Kimmick. Then on consecutive plays, Jack Erbeck scrambled 40 yards to tie the score then on the Wildcats final play Erbeck threw a dart to Jared Golibitsky in the end zone to close the game’s scoring.
