Montgomery needs Keith Hovey

Larry Koplik of Montgomery
If you watch the video of the Township Committee candidate forum on Montgomery’s Channel 14, one thing is clear: the Democratic candidate Keith Hovey is better prepared to be on the Township Committee. He is ready.
Keith is talking about the profound changes and difficulties we face. For example, he’s talking with authority about the affordable housing requirement our town is expected to meet in the next 10 years, and how we must face that squarely. He knows about budget matters and isn’t trying to either soft-pedal or oversimplify the very tough decisions ahead.
At the same time, he is optimistic. He has good ideas about things to do in our commercial district along Route 206 to make it safe and walkable, to deal with the traffic, make it an appealing destination and a more lucrative revenue source for the town. He is talking good sense about the approach to take with Skillman Village, and how to achieve the big park without giving away the store. And he knows and cares about doing our part locally to protect natural resources and combat global climate change.
Keith’s tone and message have been mature and reasonable; what he says makes sense. He has earned my vote for Montgomery Township Committee.
