Faces Somerville in finale Saturday
Despite a rally of four goals by Bridgewater in the second half, Manville Recreation’s 6-0 third and fourth grade soccer team wouldn’t let it go with a loss. The team fought hard to end the game in a 4-4 tie.
Manville came on strong in the first half when Antonio McFadden made an early goal. Teammate Ramon Quinonez scored next off a nice pass from Shane Honkisz. McFadden ended the first half at 3-0 with another goal.
Vinicio Moreno scored on a pass from Quinonez to produce a 4-0 lead early in the second half. However, Manville, accustomed to playing 9-v9, began to feel the pressure when the referee started the second half with 11 players on each side. Bridgewater rallied with four goals to end the game in a tie.
Manville, now 6-0-1, will face Somerville this Saturday in its final game of the season.
