The Monmouth County Fire Academy in Howell graduated 72 volunteers from Firefighter 1 classes No. 75 and No. 76 on May 28, including the following local residents: Tyler J. Badaracco, Vincent A. Cerullo, John Dubolsky, Robert S. Klimowicz, Vincent Stoia and Alexander J. Wilk, all of Colts Neck; Jonathan Knapp of Englishtown; Paul Heaton of Farmingdale; Adam Hirsch and Nick Whelan, both of Freehold; and Kalil N. Jeter, Sean Sullivan, Robert P. Wilson, Matthew Kole and Alan T. Schulwitz, all of Manalapan.
The Fire Academy in Howell also graduated 32 volunteers from Firefighter 1 Class No. 77 on July 31, including the following local residents: Ryan Brass, Mark Delgado, Thomas Krause, Joseph Nero, John Piecuch, Thomas Scanlon, Justin Telzer, Anthony Valenzano, Thomas Whelan and Timothy White.
The Firefighter I graduates attended weekend classes at the academy and completed more than 130 hours of course work. They received training in rescue, fire extinguishment, hazardous materials response, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), electrical safety, and the care of hoses and other equipment.
Each firefighter was awarded a certificate of course completion by county Fire Marshal Timothy Smith and William Itinger, chief training officer at the academy.
