Jennifer Vogel, Boy Scout Troop 888, Dayton
Over the past weekend, Scouts from South Brunswick dropped off Scouting for Food bags to individual homes asking for food donations for the local food pantry.
This year, more than ever, it is extremely important that we are able to collect as much food as possible for our pantry. The number of local residents utilizing the pantry has nearly doubled over the last year due to the downturn in the economy.
Leave filled bags on your front porch next weekend and they will be picked up by area Scouts and brought to the local food pantry.
Thanksgiving is next month and I urge you to think about those less fortunate this week by picking up extra food items for donation.
Please be as generous as you possibly can. Thank you for your help.
