Beech Woods Park should be closed

Frank Chrinko, Kendall Park
the ghoulishly gruesome discovery of dead bodies buried in Beech Woods Park is truly a tragic event. How could this have happened in our normally bucolic town?
The family that suffered in this instance goes far beyond the parents who were murdered, their son and his girlfriend. All of South Brunswick is hurting because of this terrible crime.
Beech Woods Park has been a showplace in our municipality and has been heralded as one of the accomplishments of the current administration. Now, it has been permanently tainted and will be haunted forever. No longer can this park be pointed to with pride without being reminded of what the park offered to the perpetrators of this double murder — total concealment.
Overpriced and under-utilized, hidden and inaccessible, passive and reclusive, Beech Woods Park provided an eerie escape from the busy world around its secluded woodland sanctuary. Two years ago, drug arrests and illegal alcohol consumption resulted in arrests in Beech Woods and Veterans parks on Beekman Road.
Beech Woods should be closed. Nature should be allowed to restore it to its original form, a virgin forest, which will bring peace and tranquility back to this place in our town.
