Fear for the nation if Obama is elected

Laura DeRuve, Kendall Park
As the South Brunswick coordinator for the McCain campaign, one of the many reasons in addition to my daughter getting married that I dropped out of the Township Council race, I fear greatly for our country should Barack Obama become our next president.
Despite criticism of George Bush, which is why some people say they are voting for him, it is actually the Democratic Congress that has gotten our country into this mess. And it is George Bush that has kept all of us safe since 9/11.
While making phone calls at McCain headquarters, I discovered that Obama supporters, and people stating they were Democrats, were out and out rude on the phone. When stating I was a volunteer for the McCain campaign, they did not wish to answer four simple questions. Yet, they did not have a clue that my first question was to ask which candidate they were supporting. I never came across such discourteous and rude people in my life.
When called by the Obama campaign I would not be so rude as to not answer four simple questions just because I was not from his party. I am appalled by the low mentality and discourtesy of these Obama supporters.
The constant barrage of the liberal media against both Republican candidates is beyond belief, especially against Sarah Palin. To criticize her wardrobe that the Republican Party gave her, which she is donating to charity because she could not exactly campaign in her LL Bean Alaska wear for this position, is uncalled for. The feminists criticize her under the guise that she is not pro-choice, yet Gov. Palin has said several times that this should be an individual decision.
Personally, I think the feminists are so envious of Gov. Palin because she is not only beautiful, but she is smart, has a lovely family including raising a Down syndrome child, has a great career, a supportive husband who happens to be extremely handsome, takes care of the kids and is macho in his own right. Basically, this woman has it all and they can’t handle it.
At McCain headquarters, I overheard a McCain volunteer on the phone making calls. He was of Asian decent and got into conversation with a caller. He was explaining that he was from the Peoples’ Republic of China where they have national healthcare, like Sen. Obama wants for the United States. He was telling the caller how horrible it is — that you will continually have to wait on long lines or have a long time to get in to see a doctor, certainly not something I want to participate in or fund with an increase in my taxes for others.
Lastly, how dare “Joe the Plumber,” an average citizen, question Barack Obama or call him on anything without his history being attacked, as if he were running for office.
An now Joe Biden receives some questions he is uncomfortable with, and the Obama campaign pulls all further interviews from the station — WFTV in Florida? Is this an example of things to come and what we should expect from an Obama presidency — that we shall not dare to question anything our president or vice-president do? Is this a democracy or a dictatorship? Is this the direction we want?
I fear greatly for our country should Barack Hussein Obama become our next president, and mark my words. It’s only a matter of time before you Obama supporters will too.
