Registration is open for the first “Take a Breath for Kenny” Memorial 3K walkathon Nov. 2 at Roosevelt Park on Route 1 in Edison. Proceeds will benefit lung cancer research at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The event is held in memory of Kenneth W. Patton Sr., an Edison police lieutenant who lost his life to the disease in November 2007.
Check in is from 8 to 9:15 a.m., with the race at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $20, $10 for students. There will be T-shirts, musical entertainment, and refreshments.
