Local residents will head to the polls on Tuesday and cast ballots for candidates on the local, county, state and national level.
Polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Anyone on line at a polling place before 8 p.m. will be allowed to cast a ballot.
In Cranbury, Republican Win Cody is vying with Democrat John Ritter for one three-year term on the Township Committee.
In Jamesburg, Republican Brian Duke, Democrat Daria Ludas and Democrat incumbent and current council President Otto Kostbar are vying for two, three-year seats on Borough Council.
On the ballot for president of the United States will be Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, and Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party, Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party, Roger Calero of the Socialist Workers Party, Gloria LaRiva of the Party of Socialism and Liberation, Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party, Brian Moore of the Socialist Party USA, and independent candidates Ralph Nader and Jeffery Boss.
The candidates for U.S. Senate are Democratic incumbent Frank Lautenberg, Republican Dick Zimmer, Sara Lobman of the Socialist Party of New Jersey, Jason Scheurer of the New Jersey Libertarian Party, and independents Jeffery Boss, Daryl Mikell Brooks, and J.M. Carter.
On the ballot for the 12th Congressional District are Democratic incumbent Rush Holt, Republican Alan Bateman and independent David Corsi.
Democrats David Crabiel and Millie Scott will be vying with Republicans Lynda Woods-Cleary, of South Brunswick, and Daniel Kerwin for two, three-year seats on the Middlesex County Board of Freeholders. Democrat Ronald Rios and Republican Robert Thuring will be competing for a one-year seat on the freeholder board.
The polling places are:
Cranbury residents can vote at Town Hall on North Main Street, while Jamesburg residents can vote at Borough Hall on Perrineville Road.

• Ward 1, District 1: Encore Monroe, Brookside Drive;
• Ward 1, Districts 2, 3, 4, 5: Rossmoor Clubhouse, Rossmoor Drive;
• Ward 1, Districts 6, 7, 8, 9, 10: Clearbrook Cultural Center, Ardmore and Halsey roads;
• Ward 1, Districts 11, 12: Monroe Township Fire and EMS Facility, Center Drive;
• Ward 1, District 13: The Ponds Club, Waterside Boulevard;
• Ward 1, District 14; Ward 2, District 10: Applegarth Middle School, Applegarth Road;
• Ward 1, District 15: Monroe Village, David Brainerd Drive;
• Ward 2, District 1; Ward 3, Districts 4, 9: Woodland School, Harrison Avenue;
• Ward 2, District 2; Ward 3, Districts 6, 8: Brookside School, Buckelew Avenue;
• Ward 2, Districts 3, 9, 11, 12: Whittingham Towne Center, Whittingham Drive;
• Ward 2, District 4: Monroe Township Library, Municipal Plaza;
