Charles Lefferts Conard, 81, died Monday. Born in Lawrenceville, son of the late David and Alretta Conard, he was a resident of Pennington for most of his life until moving recently to Perth, N.Y.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Conard was a machinist, who worked for Niederer and Sons, and Mobil Research. He was the owner of Western Auto in Pennington for many years.
Husband of the late Faye Duvall Conard, he is survived by two daughters, Diane Conard of Perth, N.Y., and Karen Hanner of Arlington Heights, Ill.; two granddaughters, Jenn and Alicia Hanner; a brother, John (Jack) Conard; and a sister, Annabelle Tomlinson of Pennington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Rosadivito, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington. Burial will be Saturday morning at Princeton Memorial Park. A service in celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, East Broad Street, Hopewell.
