Tenant supports a permanent rental board

As a 16-month tenant in Freehold Borough, I am amazed at the situation that the 1,900 tenants are subjected to by code enforcement and the borough itself. I live in an apartment that is owned by an “absentee” landlord.

My complaints to code enforcement and the borough have both gone unanswered or answered with no effective accountability.

I have several BOCA code violations in my apartment that have been present since the day I moved in, which leads me to ask how the borough issued a certificate of occupancy for this apartment.

Also, how does the municipal attorney take the word of the landlord that he has corrected certain issues without any accountable proof?

I am adamant that we need a functional permanent rental board. Homeowners, wake up before your town and the value of your properties disappear.
