MONROE — An 82-year-old township resident was killed Oct. 27 in a car accident on Perrineville Road.
According to police, Ada H. Marlib, driving a 2007 Saturn, died when she struck a street sweeping vehicle driven by Michael A. Vinvenzi, 46, of Toms River, at 2:39 p.m.
Police said both vehicles were traveling north on Perrineville Road at the time, with Marlib driving behind the street sweeper. At some point, Marlib’s vehicle struck the rear of the street sweeper and then entered the opposite lane of travel.
At that point, a third vehicle, a 2007 Ford Explorer driven by Seymour Behm, 72, of Monroe, which was traveling south, struck Marlib’s car. Her car then overturned, ejecting the driver and causing fatal injuries, according to Monroe police.
Behm and a passenger in his vehicle, a 20-month-old boy, were both taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for an evaluation. Vinvenzi was not injured.
Police asked that any witnesses contact Monroe Police Sgt. Robert Bell at 732-521- 0222, ext. 126.
