SARASOTA, Fla. – Zopito Joseph D’Amico, 85, formerly of Lawrenceville, died Oct. 28.
A World War II Navy veteran, he was known for his music and especially his accordion playing. He taught accordion and was a bandleader in New Jersey for more than 30 years before moving to Florida, where he continued to play. He also enjoyed playing golf.
Mr. D’Amico was an honorary life member of Musicians Local 62, a life member of BPOE Elks 105 in Trenton, a member of Elks 1519 in Sarasota, Fla., and a member of The Meadows Country Club, Sarasota, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Sarasota, Fla.; mother-in-law Dorothy Sikos of East Windsor; son Joseph P. of Ewing Township; daughter Catherine of Hamilton Township; brother Raymond and sister-in-law Merry, of Lawrenceville; sister Mary DePagnier of Lawrenceville; brother John and sister-in-law Margaret, of Lawrenceville; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lawrenceville.
